Description

With this Velvet 83 from the Tecnomar shipyard, which is based in Viareggio and produces just a stone's throw from there, we climb aboard a classic example of Italian style applied to the large open, a boat full of personality and therefore easily traceable to the brand to which it belongs, given that it fully embraces those canons of sportiness and innovation that have characterized the Tecnomar brand over time. All seasoned with that absolutely Viareggio way of making boats, solid in construction but above all made with great attention to detail in the fittings, typical of the best craftsmanship. A prerogative that acquires value especially when it comes to custom creations, tailored to the owner's needs, just like in the case of this open, which can reach a maximum level of customization with regard to the use of space, given that the owner can choose the layout of the interiors, but also the style in which to furnish them, thus allowing the choice of furniture, fabrics, coverings, etc. We were saying that the Velvet 83 maintains a firm family feeling expressed by Tecnomar with its open boats, highly characterized by the hull, with the slender bow and well above the water, with the pronounced bow and then the sides that gradually descend towards the stern until they end at its end, embedding a comfortable beach. The deckhouse has been kept quite low, well connected to the large glass of the windshield, enveloping and extended towards the stern, on which rests a thin hard top that in turn integrates a spoiler with antenna holder function. Underneath it is hidden an extendable soft top over a good part of the underlying cockpit, offering protection from the sun. The deck superstructure is further streamlined by the presence of elongated windows, called open view, located next to the top uprights, surfaces that contribute to granting a lot of brightness to the interior of the boat. The external spaces are characterized by the presence of two sundecks. The first is an integral part of the cockpit, positioned above the aft garage that contains the tender, while the other is located in the deckhouse, at the bow. Both are very usable, thanks to their generous dimensions but also to those of the gangways that connect the two ends of the external deck. The entire walkway is covered in teak, including the aft platform and the double ladder that facilitates access. Also in the cockpit is an external dinning area, consisting of a dining table, a sofa and armchairs. A large window connects this area with the interior, thanks to a double sliding door opening. As soon as you enter, the Velvet 83 offers a living room with leather sofas, an adjoining chaisse longue, armchairs and a service cabinet capable of containing a retractable plasma TV. An area that seemed to us to be furnished with a fairly sober but decidedly elegant style, which sees the use of light coverings for sofas and floors, dark essences for the furniture and that towards the bow lets you see, or rather, almost flaunts, a hi-tech control station, essential in its forms but very complete in its instrumentation. The pilot's position is dominant, over the sea, over the bridge, over the rear lounge but also over the compartment that opens beyond, towards the bow. The Velvet 83, in fact, has a fairly original internal layout, which in the bow area sees the presence of a second living area, consisting of a large "L" sofa and a low service table, positioned on an intermediate level between the main deck and the lower deck, reachable by going down a staircase positioned to starboard. The task of delimiting the two areas is entrusted to the glass, a solution that gives further airiness and depth to the whole, granting a very suggestive visual impact. The result is an extremely large living area, which integrates adjoining areas well, from stern to bow, making life on board extremely convivial and with an excellent level of overall comfort. Next to the second lounge is the kitchen, designed with attention to functionality but also aesthetics, with the use of dark wood for the furniture and steel for the sinks and appliances. A central staircase leads to the sleeping area, consisting of three cabins in total, two guests plus the owner's cabin. They all overlook a corridor, first the guests, mirrored in layout and similar in space, equipped with single beds side by side, wardrobe and en-suite bathroom with separate shower cubicle. At the end of the corridor you reach the compartment dedicated to the owner and his wife, a real suite that uses the space granted by the entire beam of the hull. The double bed is in a central position, served by bedside tables and two cabinets with drawers, present along the bulwarks. Then, towards the stern, on the starboard side there is the en suite bathroom, equipped with a large shower cubicle, while on the port side there is space for a large-capacity wardrobe.
