The Custom Line 120 is not a dream, but rather a real yacht expressing her strong personality from the very first glance. Designed by Francesco Paszkowski Design, she is at once a calm and energetic tale. Pure lines and edgy shapes to underline the fact that we are talking about a planning pleasure yacht with a total of 5276 hp moving about 175 tonnes at a speed of 25 knots. The profile is sleek and powerful, taut lines run from stern to bow and give life to an exciting alternation of matter and colour as well as of light structural surfaces and dark tinted windows. «Custom Line entrusted us with the entire project and the interiors were created in collaboration with Margherita Casprini. I was aware that it was going to be a delicate endeavour, after the success of the projects we had already created and which determined the brand’s success. When we restyled the line, we maintained the continuity of the brand and enhanced some distinctive elements, such as the open-air spaces, which was a very characteristic feature that was already quite strong in the previous models. We increased the contact with the sea trying to eliminate every possible boundary between the exterior and the interior. The project includes several original technical solutions. These solutions are closely linked to the entire project of the external lines as parts of one single architectural set-up», as architect Paszkowski explained to us. There are many novelties, starting from the design of the hull where they extended the quickwork towards the bow to renew the bottom lines. This choice is the result of a careful analysis aimed at reducing the resistance to guarantee an outstanding performance considering the volume and displacement of the boat. The Custom Line 120 hull design was inspired by technologies used for racing power yachts, with particular care and attention paid to the creation of the structures to ensure maximum strength and lightness. Furthermore, the use of carbon in the superstructure gave rise to an elegant design of the part of the flybridge that extends towards the bow without the need for supporting props in the cockpit. This project represents a union between past and future, the tradition of the brand and the introduction of stylistic traits from other design universes, such as the automotive industry or residential architecture, the exaltation of shapes and volumes by means of design choices that are in line with the most current trends in contemporary living. The décor is based on a balance between the dark tones provided by the wood and the light tones obtained with the lacquering. Leather, steel and glass were used for the details. The leather covers some of the walls in the 38 sqm master suite, as well as the headboards of the beds in VIP and guest cabins. Wallpaper lacquered with a particular finish to create an antiqued mirror effect was used for the walls behind the night stands next to the beds. The large windows highlight the continuity between the exterior and interior space, which is one of the key aspects of the entire design project, and increase the flow of natural light indoors. This is also true for the guest cabins, especially the two amidships, where the beds face the bulwark to make the most of the view from the large hull windows. On board the Custom Line 120 particular attention was dedicated to the exterior areas, which have always been one of the brand’s distinctive traits. Especially on the bow, where an additional common area was created that can be accessed from the external starboard stairs or from two retractable doors on the flybridge located on the bulwark manoeuvring stations. Two separate sun pads make up the walkway that leads to the foredeck, which features a large dinette, a forward-facing sofa and a table, under which a garage can host a second tender or a jetski. The comfort of a flybridge and the sportiness of a coupé also blend perfectly on the sun deck. The side windows offer protection, which is completed by the hard top with sky light above the cocktail area, the lounge, and the monkey bridge, which allow you to look outside while you are sitting down. The relaxation area with whirlpool tub and free-standing furniture can be protected from the sun thanks to a retractable bimini in the hard top, which finds support astern thanks to two poles in the superstructure.
